Blending in with the background is sometimes quit important. I know of fisherman that wear camouflage clothing trying to blend in. I don't go that far but I do try to wear light colored shirts(sky blue, greenish blue)when its bright out and darker ones on cloudy days. Your background changes anytime you move but I think that often your background from the trout's point of view would be the sky, unless your fishing skinny water like Spillway creek.
As you point out, nature its self has the best ideas for camouflage which our own military must agree with. We don't ever see fighter jets with neon pink underbellies.
