Jim thought I was a weenie for putting "Toasty Toes" on my socks up at the White. It turned out that he was right because of the constant water temperature and daytime highs of about 60 degrees.
I still believe that in extreme cold you can preserve your core body heat by using one of the "Hot Hands" type body warmers and dropping it down you chest one or two layers from your skin.
A "Hot Hands" type product at the pulse point of your wrist can do the same for your hand temperature, in my opinion. I certainly agree with Jim on the neoprene issue but hope that it doesn't get cold enough to need them. I like an outer breathable shell top and bottom.
