Jim,
Its good to see you posting the tip of the week again. They are very informative. I have been bass fishing since I was not much bigger than the crankbaits I was throwing and this fly fishing is a whole new animal. I started trout fishing using power bait and various spinners and found out that I could catch lots of trout mostly in the faster water below some falls and some in front of them pretty quickly. However those two methods use quite a bit of weight on a tight line in the faster currents. The methods of using an almost weightless fly at the end of a flyline and trying to get a "dead drift" with no drag in the currents is what I have trouble with. Bought a pretty good book from Orvis called "Reading Trout Water" that is very informative for identifying the breaks in current and such.
I look forward to more of your tips in the future as I try to read everthing I can from someone who has "been there, done that."
