Don't forget to fish the right side of the picture. Notice how the hill goes up on the right. That means there will be deeper water on that edge of the stream. After you fish the spot in red then work your way down river. Remember Trout are lazy. So look for breaks in the current. Notice the bolder on the right? Drift a fly past it several times on your way down to the hole. Now you want to fish the head of the whole first. Why? Well the current will rush over the top of the fish as they hug the bottom of the pool. Think of it like an airplane wing. The faster air current is on the top of the wing. The slower air current is on the bottom. The same thing happens here. The fast water current is at the top of the pool and the slower current is at the bottom. Now add a few boulders in the bottom of the pool and you have a great place for a big old fat trout to hang out. All he has to do is waiting for the food to come to him. Hopefully it has a hook in it.
